Examples include

  • Awarding Body – Relationship for over 6 years – value for money, joint business opportunities explored / actioned, joint lobbying ongoing, lower internal costs achieved.
  • Recruitment – relationship for over 12 years which delivered significant improvement in candidate quality, the candidates experience, response times and candidate retention as well as significant cost reductions.
  • Catering and Cleaning – relationship for over 8 years. With both of these services critical to the delivery of a key customer contract, the requirement was developed with a focus on customer satisfaction and year on year cost reduction. The initial phase was to jointly ensure we agreed with the customer ‘what good looks like’ and to then remove waste from a number complicated delivery streams. Benefits included additional work won in partnership, year on year cost reductions and customer satisfaction improvements.
  • Stationery – relationship for over 10years. Whilst stationery is normally managed as a commodity we formed a relationship with a provider which developed into a partnership through the introduction of a improved management system e.g. measurement on a cost per head, which reduced demand and controlled supply rather than having a ‘simple’ focus on price. This resulted in year on year reductions in spend and additionally supported a number of Joint business opportunity which were delivered with a key customer.
  • Lease Cars – relationship for 8 years. The provider was a Customer as well as a supplier and the ‘tensions’ of both relationships were used to develop a number of business opportunities and year on year cost reductions through enhanced real time (nearly) management data.
